Our PTA strives to make the school year fun, educational, community-focused, & productive, with a touch of whimsy. We are in the classrooms, planning our community & fundraising events, seeking out & coordinating diverse enrichment opportunities, writing checks, building haunted houses, organizing after school clubs, going door to door in the business community setting up fundraising nights or sponsorships, writing more checks, working in the garden, on social media, hanging out after drop off for an impromptu vote, scouring google docs & spreadsheets trying to make every dollar count, making copies, writing even more checks, helping the kiddos get on their skates on for SK8 club - the list is endless. This Delevan parent & caregiver community steps up for our kiddos in phenomenal - nay, heroic, ways. In the past few years, we have grown into one of the largest PTA member bases in the district & our goal is making Delevan the best possible experience for the kids.
Fundraising
Of course, we have to raise money. Everything we do for the kiddos costs money, so as a PTA, we will often ask for your participation in our fundraising efforts. Click the button below to go to our Fundraising page!
BUT this page is about what we we do!
Last year - thanks to the record-breaking fundraising efforts of our community - we enacted about $102,000 worth of ADDED enhancement, enrichment, & programming to the Delevan student experience. This is a snapshot of what we do throughout the year!
VOLUNTEER SUPPORT
Every PTA goal to enhance our children’s Delevan experience takes money, so we fundraise. They also take time, so we volunteer! One of our primary functions as a PTA is to foster volunteer support for our initiatives as well as for Delevan’s needs. As members of the PTA, we are event-planners, haunted house builders, yearbook sorters, spreadsheet makers, fundraisers. We are here to engage; we are here to advocate; we are here to invest; we are here to unite; we are here to connect; and we are here to enrich. And we are always on the hunt for anyone interested in being more involved in what we do.
Our PTA clocked over 2500 hours of volunteer time investment in the 2024-2025 school year! Our members show up and show out for Delevan!
This 2025-2026 school year will have numerous opportunities for you to volunteer with us! Below is our current list of needs - if any of these sound interesting to you, screenshot to scan the QR Code below to fill out our PTA Involvement Interest Form!

Room Reps will recruit additional parent/caregiver volunteers as needed throughout the year, solicit & collect supply donations, organize appreciations & gifts, so it’s important that they have all your info to better communicate with you!

DEI: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Our PTA is steadfast in its commitment to our diversity, equity, & inclusion programming. Our goal is to foster a space that is not only inclusive, but actively affirming of the diverse identities and lived experiences within our school and we would love for you to be a part of this initiative! Our DEI Committee has been a beacon of fun and diverse programming for our students, growing and expanding each year. Some examples of past programming include: our Dia de los Muertos altar, an assembly uplifting AAPI voices in art and animation, a Diwali installation at Harvest Fest, LGBTQIA+ community meetup, Lion dancing assemblies for Lunar New Year, a school visit from disabilities advocate Lucy Meyer, a book drive to stock our school library for Hispanic Heritage Month, neurodiversity caregiver meetups, an assembly on the Black origins of country music (featuring Beyonce’s hit Texas Hold’em) for Black History month, and a Holi powder toss at Family Dance.
We are always on the hunt for new ideas on diversity & inclusion enrichment and fresh voices to make Delevan a safe and inclusive space for all. Check out our DEI webpage for more details!

Teacher & Staff Appreciation
Principal Appreciation Day Love for our Mr. Bernstein!
One of our favorite things to do throughout the year is show our teachers & staff as much love as possible! We provide meals for the extra long days of Back to School Night and Open House and organize Teacher Appreciation Week gifts. We also subsidize classroom grants for each teacher to purchase much-needed supplies!
This year we were also able to provide new computer work stations for our front office stars and Dodgers script Delevan jerseys fo all our teachers and staff.
OUR COMMUNITY EVENTS
Every year our PTA hosts two free community events on campus: Harvest Fest & Family Dance, and one SK8 Night event! These are moments to come together as a school family and just have fun! The dates for these events this year are:
Harvest Fest - Friday, October 24, 2025
SK8 Night - TBD
Family Dance - TBD

PARENT/CAREGIVER COMMUNITY & FAMILY MEETUPS
As humans, we need fellow parent/caregiver connection & family friendships. Our PTA understands the importance of this community & we are actively trying to provide opportunity for us all to get together!
Watch out for meetup events on Class Dojo, our PTA socials, & your Room Rep emails!
Our Delevan Garden

Over the last few years, the PTA has worked to improve the expansive garden that sits near the back of Delevan’s campus. The garden provides a beautiful outdoor learning environment where students learn about plants + life cycles, participate in garden maintenance, and engage in the beauty of the outdoors during school hours. The garden also hosts enrichment programs after school.
There is always work to do on our garden. If you are interested in helping to improve our garden with physical work or have a green thumb and want to share your knowledge, please contact us here.
