6th Grade Chair and Coordinators
Are you going to have a 6th grader next year? Are they already excited about the Science Field Trip? We are too and have 7 fundraisers/activities that are going to ensure that they get there.
We need your enthusiasm and creativity to make them shine. Whether you're the 6th Grade Chair ensuring smooth communication or one of our Coordinators leading the charge on a fantastic fundraiser, your commitment is the key to unlocking an unforgettable 6-day field trip for our soon to be 6th graders. Looking for volunteers for the following:
A. Sell food at Back to School Night: 1 person filled, need 1 more
B. Sell food/trinkets at School Dance: Need 2 people
C. Sell/Make Holiday VIP tickets: 1 person filled, need 1 – 2 more
D. 6th grade field trip helping (exactly what you do is tbd): need 2 people
Commitment: 1 week focus on 6th grade field trip
Membership Chair / Committee
Help our PTA family grow and launch our membership drive at the start of the school year. Spread the word through our website, social media, classroom teachers and in-person at our morning PTA table.
Commitment: 0-2 hours a week for 4 weeks at the beginning of the school year, and we welcome your help throughout the year.
Social Media Co-Chair
Are Instagram and Facebook your thing? Our Social Media Chair is looking for help in sharing Delevan events to our community on our social media platforms.
Commitment: as much or as little involvement as you’d like
Campus Greenification Co-Chair
Do you have a green thumb? We need you! Our Campus Greenification Chair is looking for support and new ideas to help Delevan become green and beautiful. Want to organize a clean up day around the school? Help with the garden or the release of the butterflies on campus? Your ideas can help bring us to the next level!
Looking for volunteers for:
a. Organizing a clean-up day around perimeter of the school
b. Ordering butterflies for all the classrooms
c. For the release of butterflies, bring in an artist to teach drawing chalk butterflies on school grounds.
d. Weeding, maintenance of the garden
e. After school garden club.
Commitment: as much or as little involvement as you’d like
Family Dance Chair
If you know, you know. The family dance is so much fun for the kids and the parents! A night of dancing and singing in the auditorium decorated in the school picked theme. Food trucks and whatever else you can think of!
Looking for volunteers for the following:
Coordinate Departments, send Paperwork that is needed (usually just permit paperwork, unless something new is done).
Food Truck Coordinator: Get 2 food trucks ( can use ones from last year, be the contact person for them)
Decorations: Decide on a theme and get decorations purchase with budget (glow in the dark was great and 6th grade sold glow in the dark things) We will have volunteers help on day of Dance
Volunteer Coordinator: Need chaperones inside the dance area (2 at all times), people walking around making things are ok (4 at all times) and people for clean up (as many as possible 6-10 will make it quick)
Commitment:
March/Springtime, 0-3 hours per week, 4 weeks
Fundraising Chair
Help put the “fun” into fundraising. Our biggest fundraiser of the year, Koalathon, is covered, but we’d love to hear your ideas for fundraising and getting the community to participate.
Commitment: as much or as little involvement as you’d like
SK8 Night Chair
This is a Delevan favorite! Help organize a fun night of skating and music at the Moonlight Rollerway. You’ll have support and guidance along the way.
Commitment:
January, 1-4 hours total to plan the event
Reflections Chair
Where creativity is celebrated! Would you like to encourage more art in the Delevan community? Reflections is the PTA sponsored art program that asks kids to submit work in their chosen medium. As chair, you will promote the projects and decide which will continue on to the city-wide exhibit in a formal and fun recognition ceremony.
Commitment:
0-5 hours/week, 5 weeks
